In the 50’s, a small Brazilian bronze manufacturer started to shine in the national scenario. Italbronze initiated its activities on April, 17th 1958, when Ferdinando and Silvano Maestripieri brothers together with their friend Paulo Bovani, associated to found Indústria Metalúrgica Bovani-Maestripieri Ltda., located initially at Mooca neighborhood in São Paulo. The goal was to fulfill the existing lack of suppliers for automotive components, with national products at the same quality level as the imported ones. In the 70’s, Italbronze was already consolidated in the market and looking forward to expand its facility, opened the Guarulhos plant. At the same time, with a more aggressive sales policy, the company name was changed to Italbronze Ltda. The name came from the Italian origin from its owners and the major raw material of the business.
